Big auction coming soon in Toronto. birds are there in quarantine right now.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/273168889859260/ When one reads of a fancier in Europe who sends 1 or 2 birds to a race against thousands and wins, then tells everyone he got his birds from club members one has to wonder were the sport is going. For me it is using what I have to the best of my ability. I believe that many birds purchased for a high price sometimes do excel with the offspring but also are just money makers. Young go for a good price also.
Comes down to the fancier. Basically all birds are equal. Obviously bred for short are not always good as bred for long end. I truly think the fancier him/herself can get the best out of the birds on hand. Many do not have the time to observe the birds due to work and other commitments. Last few years I have been sloppy. 2018 all go every week if in good health. No excuses, no hold backs. They are good or not. Sorry folks, rambling again! 9.30 pm here. Just on freezing. Have take the dogs out.
