Leave them under the parents until other pair has laid. Just guessing here but assume week should be OK. The foster parents should know when the eggs will hatch due to the movement in the shell. Should have milk ready. Never tried it myself though.

maximum I have tried is 5 days which turned out ok but they were floated under a really good pair of feeders no more than 3 days is desirable crop milk is fed for 7 days ...so best float eggs under new parents asap as hal says they will adjust to movement in the egg and then start to produce crop milk at the correct time

I thought by floating eggs that werent laid the same dates, how long before there addled...useless, left un incubated. if you meant eggs that have been incubated i wouldnt fancy more than 3 days shorter and moved a week before due. over sitting a few days is easier.
