Have you picked a finish for your loft David? There is a product I like quite a bit for the log cabins around here. It is called "australian timber oil". Made by Cabot. Spray it on, and maybe back brush a little.

David. All that time and effort. Just buy one or pay someone to finish it?

not yet rom, I need to treat it before it goes up .......I like the sound of this, sounds easy to apply........I don't want to use something that takes ages to paint on like a varnish, good tho` it may be it is oil based and time consuming.
spray on or water based sounds easy

lofts more or less built hal, base is easy to finish now, main problem is lifting / fixing the sections on my own, not easy 7 ft x 6 ft sections.....
I`ll get there tho`

get a 3 metre length of timber to hold yer first panel in place, just fix the 3metre length to the top of the first panel angled down to the loft floor you can put a block of wood on the floor as a stop once you got a corner up its plain sailing will be shuffling a few boxes about myself over the next few days for fostering eggs to and also managed to get a bouncy castle blower for one of my lofts so need to install that to ,the loft its going in is very close to a fence so airflow is poor and the blower will add good air flow
