Sad news a Legend passes

I’ve had sad news of a local pigeon Legend, and member of my club that I’ve raced against since I was a boy passed away over Christmas.
My ambition as a lad was not to win a race, but to beat the mighty Jimmy Richards.
He has been a top widowhood flyer in this area since the 70s.
He’s won the London Combine more times than I can remember, and bred many winners for people from he’s Concord lofts here in Laindon.
Last year he bred the first UK pigeon Home in the South African million dollar race for a syndicate.
I’ve heard that there will be an auction soon in aid of he’s wife Jeanie.
I will find out more about this at my AGM on Wednesday.
Even with failing health he was still a force to be reckoned with, especially with Combine races, placing again a few times last season.
I would like to send my heart felt condolences to all of Jimmys family and may he rest in peace, a true a Legend of our sport.

You can bet their are some with a smile on their face now with a chance of winning something now he's gone . I remember years ago when the old fella who did the training passed way lovely man he was the first thing one fancier said was who will do the training now you could have nocked me down with a feather as Alf wasn't even cold

Same, same     . Truth be told I had a similar phone call here yesterday about an old mate/friend from many many years ago etc who had just died at the young age of 88, who was of the lengend type in his own way here. 50 years ago here for years 4 muskerteer types 3 are legends even today, one is a pretender all went bush bashing together "2x2" to a place called Kilcunda (100 plus miles, round trip) to meet up & talk waffle/sh*te & toss our birds into a gale most times to tune them in for our distance type races & our little pond type races also  . So Lenny enjoy your retirement as I suspect, it wont be all that long before the other 3 muskerteers will join you to talk absolute waffle/sh*te again .

I'm sorry knackered. The trail gets less crowded, but forward us the path. I had a young friend back off a mountain road this summer. Left behind 3 kids behind. He was a great drywaller, and dad. What is worse, he wanted me to frame a loft in his back yard. I was hoping to have someone to enjoy the sport with. Maybe ease the learning curve a bit. But it is a New YEAR! Time to make some hay.
