breeding season over

well with the breeding season over with is everyone happy with there young birds this year and how much did you breed

well my breeding season isnt over, I stil have eggs to hatch as Im breeding birds for lots of people this year. I have 60 of my own and are the best i have ever had I think. So very happy and cant wait to race them...

last round hatched and on eggs with stock birds

11 in nest ready in about 10 days, then thats me for this year...........5 to come in about 2 weeks from my brother and included with the ybs already flying round i should have a good few to race, especially after a poor start tp the season with only 8 hatching out of 20.....

i did not pair up till end of feb due to the cold weather but ive had
a realy good hatch rate this year all eggs laid have been reared in to nice yb with
none being disposed off so realy pleased .

end of february/ begining march for me next year

ive still got 6 young in bowls and 2 prs on eggs then that me done

over the last two years ive had a bad % of eggs not hatching, im putting it down to the cold.......but how come its cold for all of us and still some fanciers get a great % of eggs hatced.
i know its colder in some areas than others but its still cold for eggs hatching wherever you are, cant understand it
maybe i might wait a bit next year if its very cold again............

i read a lot about pigeon fanciers and a lot of them have heating and
insulation in there lofts and prepaire them like they are going to a race so they are
in tip top condition ready for breading season . im not saying we dont prepaire them propley
but the real top fanciers have that little bit more knoledge then we do that,s why they are at the top of there game , i always seem to think if you have a little patience and wait till it warms up a bit you will
have a better hatch rate but make sure there not carrying any fat on them .

happywith my ybs this year,took 36 in one round so roll on yb season.

all my youngbirds are weened and flying still have twenty in stockloft ready in a week not for me for other people after these all finished thank god

hi don, yes seen him when i visited my mother recently.....he was also visiting and as you know yourself, pigeons soon becames the topic of conversation.......he isnt racing this year and offered to let me use his T3 but i declines his offer as ken has already loaned me his(thank you ken), we also agreed that he would breed me 5 ybs to race this season so ill be happy to give them a go and see how they do along with other ybs i will be racing from ken, ian, a top flyer in my club who packed in and also from an undesclosed fancier who im not sure he would want me to say his name.....
