Only 5 weeks to racing

Yes soon be giving the baskets a clean and spray out but I will probably miss the first couple of races

im missing the first 14 races ..........

Just make sure you don't miss the first 23

hopefully not mark, just found a nice 18 x 6 loft in leeds for sale, wish it had been for sale a few months ago, would have saved me a lot of time and effort...........

Is the loft up and water tight now

well buy that and extend, you could soon put that together David
on second thoughts is there house up for sale aswell

I`ll have 12 ybs to wean in about 8 - 10 days, I hope the weathers betting by then to get them out......

David. Assume you live in town? Getting them out early may be advantageous. Not a problem here out in the country. Sometimes over two months old some years before I let them out. Usually works well. In fact first nice day my December hatched babies will go out. 12 of them plus some a little later.
Possum around today. Few dead on the highway also. Plus coons and a skunk. Traps baited with sardines and ready.
April some times has snow. Few years back first race was cancelled, ist weekend of May due to snow. However does not happen often.
Old birds 9 weekends of 2 races. Young birds the same. Month off in between is the current schedule.

iv 11 about 9/10 weeks old and not been out and doesn't look like they will for a few
days yet.
if i can keep them on the bottom for the first few times out they should be ok.

because I`m only going to race young birds..........

Yes David - same as me. We have no older birds to race this year.

mid april is when our programme starts

We start on the 14 April to early for me still going to be cold for training and racing youngsters starting to hatch out from the race birds and stock laid this last week 11 out of 15 pairs so far

First few races are only training chucks for me..but still have to go first race...iv unraced yearlings and dont want to jump them to far

First week in April for me but not looking forward as birds will be on big young as still need more ybs

had a few out of the boxes today, looks like I`ll be weaning this week.......

Its a pain when they start coming out the boxes before they are ready and their are 5 or 6 in one box

luckily I wrote all ring numbers down when ringing mark, normally I don't bother, and don't know who is who.......
