| I always used flooring from the building sites, free when I worked in the industry for most of my life and free when I actually helped myself to some when a youngster, naughty boy.
I know some may think the touge and grooved may hold desease but my pigeons never sufferred any ilnesses other than the odd going light.
There are still 24 box perchases in the loft made ???? years ago with that material in the hope that one or v two old favourites may turn up.
But in reality I do not think the pigeon is realy bothered, nor does it make any difference to a pigeons ability.
Regards.

| WBP Plywood if you have a few ££'s to spare. I always found chipboard fine, although some fanciers think the glue used in it gives off fumes when damp off droppings, not convinced myself plenty top lofts use chipboard. |

| Knackered, never had a posh loft just a decent one, I know many people in very posh houses with very posh lofts whose life styles I would never contemplate.
The happiest humans I have known are those who live average life styles involving all aspects of life, the good the bad and the indifferent.
I have always attempted to give my pigeons a life style as near to their natural requirements as possible.
I have always found that if you have V perches and box perches in the loft, the V perches will be filled and the box perches only used when the V perches are full.
I always had both but the latter were very often empty.
Regards.

| If you are worried about how long they last, the ones I kept and are still in the loft are over 50 years old and seen service in three different locations with adjustments.
They are as sound today as the time I made them.

just seen this post and with interest may I add I have 1 yb section with both v perches and box and come to think of it the ybs seem to prefer the v perch but the older ones getting a bit more interested in the opposite sex are going for the box perches for obvious reasons |
