That is what happened many times regarding a poor fancier with an outstanding pigeon being offered a price hard to refuse, it took guts to tell them where to go but many did surcome.

You cannot call a person capable of being involved in killing a pigeon belonging to another fancier human but unfrtunately over the years I have heard many stories hard to believe involving similar incidents like some recently regarding burning lofts down etc;

The fact is that our sport involves fanciers from every walk of life and with it the concequences.

I always believed - He was a Gangster for sure etc. - that he had a warped sense of some kind of honesty. A. if he couldn't have it fairly and paid for, then he would stop any off spring being raced, and bred to top his results.
But felt that it would be dishonest to take it and breed from it etc.

His son became a nasty piece of work in the gangster world etc. (actually it was an adopted son).

Would’ve fitted in nicely on this estate, probably would been stabbed by one of the other low life’s living here, sign of the times I’m afraid daz

whats members thoughts on starting the shows in November...? I`ll check last years dates and see if we can start around the same time, most of my old birds are looking quite tidy now after the moult.

Sounds good to me David, most of ours are just about finished now with only a couple still a bit thin around the head and neck, so November would be ok for us, see what other members think

yes same here roy, ybs are moulting still but if we start off with the old birds it should work out ok ....

More than happy with that David, would’ve thought the members will be in the same situation as us concerning their birds

Usually 1st week in December... and many times with the proviso that the Moult will be taken into account. Mind moult had about finished last year by then.

Some of mine are still heavy in the moult but may find a few to photo and take part

Do not want to poke my nose in as I no longer have our feathered friends but last year pigeons were shown a long way from the camera and no one can possibly judge the merits from a distance regarding showing.

It is best to have a full side on view as close as possible to the pigeon.

Mine weren’t, and I’m sure most of the other members weren’t either, and while I’m at it , I thought the eyesign pics were brilliant, couple out of focus but let’s be honest here, the members that bothered to enter did a damn good job

try getting an eye photo misty, that's even harder..........

I agree David it is hard to get a picture that gives the necessary information to make considered opinion on the eye, the fact is no photograph can give all the information necessary,

As a bit of Winter fun does it really matter, of course not, but the better the picture the better the fun.

The more fanciers have a go the better they will get.

noooooooo, noooooo, nooooooo ........not hear daz, honest bunch on here, everyone takes the shows in good spirits, and for the fun factor

Cannot see anyone on this site dong anything untoward in the shows, what point would there be?.

They would get no satisfaction knowing they had cheated.

Hair brushing is rampant amongst the models, looking at the pictures in some cases and then seeing them in person you would be hard pressed to recognize them.

I have heard of pigeons photographs for sale and the buyer cannot recognize the pigeon when he/she receives it.

There is no rational explanation for some of the antics in our sport but it is the same in anything where money is involved.


Just enjoy things while they last and let the cheats stew in their own juice.

yes plenty of skulduggery in pigeon sales misty, photo shopped photos being one of them.....nice looking birds make more ££££££, and photo shopped birds make even more ££££££, pieces of paper with ring numbers and great, great grandparents achievements make £££££ `s also.
