| If bands do not arrive will use these old ones. Fly the young at the end of the old bird season as old birds. 9 to band. |

| Rings came with the CU newsletter. One paragraph got my attention. Theywill be looking in to fanciers buying their bands overseas and using them ulterior motives or such. i.e. I assume banding young birds and selling them as imports. |

| Been done here Hal for ages.
At one time I read where a foreign fancier was in partnership with an English fancier, supplying the latter with rings and selling them as being bred abroad.
Where there is an opportunity to cheat it will at sometime be taken up.
Regards.

Was a very famous partnership here that did that... so many more have no doubt. I was in Canada staying with a family whose family came- some still living there - when he told me how well he knew this partnership. Then said Roly never ever buy birds from them as they … dad as Misty mentions. A couple of years later I was on site, when a god fancier posted that he was buying from them youngsters flown over from Belgium especially and he was happy etc. …. Knew the strains etc. and that he would soon be placing an order for some. I was in a dizzy as to tell him or not! I thought drat that, he was good to me, sent me 6 youngster not so long ago to try. So I enlightened him in confidence. It got back to the Partnership. One phoned me and threatened me. Left a message that he would find me and sort me out. Saw a post regarding him saying the same. I phoned and got another partner who said he partner was hot tempered and would sort if ever I went ………….. way etc. I told him to give me the address and I would pop up and see him etc. Never did... but I saw their adverts... Then he bragged on topic what he would do if ever … I posted back. 'Tell you what @@@@ name the day and where, and to make it interesting lets put say £200 each aside to go to the winners charity'! My mate must have seen it and had words with the partnership.... and I got the apology. I also got the a site owner (Part of the partnership) saying sorry, that the fight will never take place and he was out of order That I was welcomed on site. The partnership said on site to call ion any time and we could have a pint together. I wasn't interested, nor bothered. Then I have very many rues and fraudulent happenings done by very many so 'Call great', names and their malpractices which they have done and still do. Some if they told me the grass was green I'd have to go out and check! Then I saw |

| I don't think GB pigeons would be much cop against aussie birds bred for aussie conditions... Not the first generation anyway. |

| I think that Belgium birds can't handle our terrain and coasts. Saying me, they sale and we make the pigeon. Every so often a 'Big Name seller is caught via the government because of the drugs they use to keep in shape etc. Cortisone was, and is most like still very relevant. Why did / do the government step in... because it hammered their sells. The injections aside the breast bone etc.
Two things one should take on board, I believe, is that they can suger and coffee up big time in the morning, as they mark in morning and race same day. We can't because we still basket - in the main over night and the buzz would have worn off and they be asleep nigh lol.
Also they fly low into crowded locations. Not much breaking, going it alone so to speak, but the last 20 miles is all important. J.M.O. |

| Cortisone is not unknown in our country, a foreign fancier visiting a fanciers loft in our country said he would not have a pigeon given from that loft as he could detect the use from the effect it had on the feathers.
Doubt, with fanciers visiting and purchasing pigeons from foreign lofts do not pick up a bad habit or two.
Did not known they sometimes basket on the day of the race when I first mooted it some time ago cannot understand why we do not adopt it for inland races it has several positive benefits for fanciers in our country.
But unless there is a buck or two to be made ????????.
Regards.
