First weekend of May. Birds not out yet. Still snow and minus 20 c overnight. Wind chill much colder. Red Polls are back here so are redwing blackbirds. Usually they breed farther North. Apparently too cold for them so stick around until the weather warms. Many hawks. Such a cold Winter and lost so many young, never again. Have 8 weaned that are doing good. All birds now have aviary space. Problems with stock birds picking off my shoes now solved, week ago. Snow. Waterers are on light bulbs. Too much heat! They want it cold! Water freezes with out heat in an hour or so. Now out in the aviaries just put snow in when needed. Another week and temps should rise. Spring has to come soon!

Seasons are a changing I suggest Hal on average all over the globe etc. Global change sceptics say its just a seasonal thing as such like maybe a 1/100 year scenario but this old fella tends to disagree unfortunately with what I have seen change/happening on my local patch down here . End the day thou I just will now blame it all on Brexit fortunately     now, as my get out of jail card as such down here    .

A mutiny . Please no not never I suggest David especially in Geordie land type of territory etc. Bristol thou completely different kettle of fish I suspect, as I could believe it happening there with their shady past as such .

Long John underwear here. Usual for this time of year for this location is 4 C above and 4 C below nights.Tonight minus 20 some. 4 more days then hits above freezing. Frostbite warnings out etc,. Fly to cull. No more wintering maybes. Weather is ticking me off!
