| As you know I am a mob flyer and this year is no exception. We will have about 75 old uns , the most ever...we ended up with a lot of ybs from last year and I like to give all my birds a chance. I still have a few spare as well which is a Shame
How many are you racing ?

| About 70 thats way to many. About 65 of those are bred for 400+ so won't be going every week. Think il have to take washing in for the channel races . |

| Birds out first time since last November. Race birds. Joy to watch! More hawks around than usual but that is life. Eliminate all predators some thing else will eliminate some of them. Live trap not sprung last night but dead birds gone and feathers in the grass. Froze to the ground the live trap and did not trip. Nothing to put in there really. So used a piece of home made Pizza. Suspended plastic mesh and tied. Anything trying to pull it down has to put more pressure on the trip portion. Young birds 8 of them out in the aviary observing the raptors and old birds flying. Learning by watching before they go out. Barn pigeons nesting and raptors try for them. But they have survived here for many years so inherent danger signals get passed on. I assume so anyway. One could look at the eyes of the barn pigeons to try and determine "signs". But why? Most barnies have a regular eye. Nothing to see. Has to be in the brain, genetic capability. Worth the watch. https://youtu.be/TWdW71Pn_HU |
