1st toss of the year.

Yearlings only. 20 miles. 26 of them. Half raced, half just a few 20 milers last year.
25 minute flight. Took them an hour. Few hours later 4 stragglers came together. Mud on feet. Previously unraced. Glad I got the toss in. Only one they will get.
Club called to see if I was flying May11th. Told them "yes". Yearlings go. 115 miles. Weather looks iffy but will race anyway. Riding lawn tractor. Cut the front lawn. Large area. Spraying up a lot of water but rain forecast all week anyway.
Hawks still around. But hummingbirds and Orioles, swallows are also. Spring!!

Glad you go them. Back hal mud or not they are their to go again and improve

If only pigeons could talk Hal, some very interesting events would be related many I feel would dispel many theories.


Many unfortunate very good pigeons I feel are disposed of when if the whole circumstances were known it would be a different matter.

Misty yes. But to try and avoid that one should send birds as often as possible to even out the odds. Most consistent birds etc,. Used this Benzing 24 Quartz clock for many years. So tried it tonight for this weekends race. Wanted to change the batteries. After 15 miutes found were they went. In the top! I was not looking there! Age thingy!!!

This old age thing is no good Hal I suggest Just had a few days in hospital here my blood must be worth gold the took that much from me I'm   & I just about went mental with what else I had to go through as such Suggest maybe here any one who has not had the pleasure of the hospital scenario look else where for the enjoyment factor I suggest .

Howling gale last few days. Brds not out. Iffy weather for Sat but off they go.

115 mile race over. Slow trapping. However, 1300 mpm 1st one. Some others close behind. Cold day. Frost last night. Little wind. Do not know about ther members.

Howling gale. Still out 2 at 10 am. Quite pleased!

Fed results. 65 from 800 birds. Mine were 1300, winners 1500. They are 40 miles north and 40 miles shorter than me. Happy with the yearlings anyway.
