| a yb that was missing for 5-6 days wattle is a bit greasy......its not too bad and the bird is flying well enough, eating ok and droppings are ok. on the morning it seems fairly white but after flying and later in the day it seems to go a bit browny/greasy. i did have one like this last year and when i watched them i saw its nest mate feeding it so therefor giving it a discoloured wattle..... any ideas please anyone ? |

Hi David, Dump the TKK and get some Doxycycline and treat them all. Remove all grits, but first make sure that it's a geasy wattle and not just that the young bird has been 'beaking' with its' mate. If you treat with Doxy. you will need to treat for 5 days. 1 sachet in 2 litres water TKK is a med. that treats 3 things at once and I dont have a lot of faith in it although I have used it in the past, it does Cocci, Respo. and cancer but I would treat separately for these. | wattles whitened up now but ive found out it is/was beaking with its nest mate so it was making the wattle apear greasy......shes flying well and making a nice looking hen. |

| i think people panic into treating sometimes,i,ve done it myself in the past but from now on if i think there is something wrong i will get them tested which does not cost that much then treat them |

| i think its better to use preventatives rather than treatments so you can keep disease down to minimal leave proper treatment before big races to get that lift only my opinion |
