Think it time to liven things up and get back to our feathered friends.

Everyone seems delighted with the condition of their feathered friends, SO, SHOW TIME.

Come on David, could have several different classes, to liven up the next few months, need not just be the old standards.

Also could have a few quixes etc;

Me thinks going to be a long Winter.

i`d like to do some shows misty, but truth is we dont have enough members now who will enter ........a few years ago we had plent of entries and votes, now we would be lucky to get 3 members to enter birds sadly .

Yep David. sad days. was a time when one had to be early or, for then there was standing room only. A do put on the night too.

Was two clubs we were in at same venue - may be so still!
North and South Roads.
Each held their' own shows, with a dozen or so members taking part. 4 shows each, then a contest for honours week five between them the last week.
Sarnies and rolls etc. provided whilst waiting for results to be announced.

was same with club shows last time i entered, very few birds in the pens.....years ago they were full, you had to be early to get your birds in before they all went .

Same here, arranged shows every fortnight, 200 pens for 4 classes full every time, had judges from outside area, Bill Carney judged eye sign once, also cakes and drinks available.

Then latterly and right up until I retired my friend and secretary of the club held shows that were always well attended (in another club).

Always attracted much discussion. (one mans meat etc;)

Now the latter club has single low figure membership and as far as I know has never had a show since I retired as President and my friend as Secretary.

Helped to pass the Winter months and see what the opposition looked like and then how they performed racing.  

Afraid in general the latter day fanciers are not like the old school, far too many alternatives.

Me thinks you may just be right there etc Misty I'm   all things being considered.  Don't worry thou I will be thinking of everyone here     as I get a tan here once again in our summer type period . & take care.

All we have is numerous repeats, game shows and irritating cookery programmes,
must have covered every known and imaginary recipe (spelling ?) ever known.

Always, as said previously, used to love Songs of Praise now a  mixture of idiotic screeching groups in places that must have  cost thousands and soloists etc; many of which I would wager cannot spell Bible and sound like a crow with wind.

Think it can be compared with politics gone to pot.

guarantee plenty of the "Carry On" films be coming along around Christmas, same year after year but they still beat most of the current day comedies.

yes colin, the old carry on films, steptoe and son, rising damp , on the busses etc etc ......proper comedy, not like this politically correct alternative crap on the tv today,

Load of utter & total rubbish down here unfortunately at present & Xmas is still to come, when one often feels like putting a brick through the telly the shows here are that bad as such. Agree, about the good old days     with the likes of Steptoe & Son &  On the Buses type of thing     could always have a good honest type      without fail I found    .

The state we are in is due to a very few deluded individuals threatening super markets etc; with boycotts and institutions the same, all it needed to counter it was for the majority say they would boycott if they did bow to their demands.

Cannot think what the Muslims think of the situation if they read and view the present antics,not to mention the Islamics who have actually said what they think they would like to do and are trying and plotting to do so.

Every news paper now is like opening a porn book, self gratification being the main concern.

Agree to certain extent David.

The Government could and shoud stand up to them.

But if you look at every institution that has influence including the Church of England it is full of misfits and abnormals of one kind or another, complain and you are accused of bias or worse, so they do what they want and you have no say.

Think gone too far for any possible solution by man.

thanks for asking misty , it seems to come and go to be honest, each of us get a day or two feeling off it, up until today ive been fine, but today ive a headache and dizzyness etc, but wouldnt say i feel un well ......i suppose the after effects could last a while to a certain degree, just something we have to put up with i suppose eh

a friend of mines wife who had it bad last year was admitted to hospital, and placed on oxygen, she was in for four weeks and then allowed home ........she was telling me she still isnt right, and its a year later .
