| Agree there is not much that has not been kicked around in our sport over the years.
What the sport needs is a future and a means of ensuring one, however, those in positions to make changes are content with their little lot and some not even worth calling fanciers.
One thing we can safely say Knackered, although no doubt we have had our ups and downs, we have lived in the best times and seen the most amazing inventions, it is just unfortunate that some have not been for the better.
Regards. |

I have never used ETS David, last time I raced i used my STB, still has seal on from last water race, clocked two yearlings from 350 water race from 4 sent, all having only seen race basket twice in their life, or any other basket, another turned up later in the day.
ETS was in use for the last 8 years I raced.
Had numerous arguaments regarding the manner of it's introduction.
Every Rule in the book was broken in doing so.
Lat year I raced I won several firsts in both young and old birds, including first and second Thurso and 2 and 3rd Lerwick the latter intended sending 6 but the best two escaped at basketing.
That was in my old club.
I think the ETS is a good thing for a fancier who has problems of one kind or another but is not fair against other timers.
Regards.

| Was always fun and games years ago Knackered on race night.
Working velocities out long hand and variations with a swizzle stick.
Also prior to race setting several diffrent types of clock, fanciers had to attend to participate and to my mind was all part and parcel of the sports enjoyment.
Had many a laugh at some fanciers ideas regarding variations etc;
On marking night drinks and a cakes were laid on by one of the fanciers wives.
Did not have the same at reading the clocks or some bun fights would have occured . As far as I am concerned much of the fun is now dead and burried, shame.
