Think it a precarious business at the present time.

Transporting pigeons can be more expensive than the pigeons in some cases.

Would be better if fanciers helped each other.

Could put letter in the BHW giving details of help required.

Cannot at the present time see anyone making a living transporting only pigeons.

The studs could possibly help by having their own and the drivers employed doing other things when not delivering.

Getting too expensive for my liking for any possible new starter.

Up to existing fanciers to help each other.

Regards.

most present day fanciers don't want lost pigeons back and i would think most now collect the birds from auctions even online auctions

walkers do other animals as well as pigeons, and with them organising collections and deliveries wednesday and thursday i would think they could still make a profit .

true george, most do not want lost racers back, they expect the finder to keep it or dispose of it ..........i reckon this is mainly down to courier costs, but also down to them not wanting what they consider crap back .

i would think it would only be certain areas george, otherwise it would be too much to expect birds collected and delivered the same day, to / from opposite ends of the uk ...

That is not bad George, if six are involved, but if one ?.

Petrol, potholes, traffic jams, who would take it on.

good luck to whoever it is, trying their best to help fanciers at a lower cost than the rest but be difficult to make a living unless delivering other things as well as pigeons I would imagine.
