first yb trainer today............

took 22 ybs 5 miles today for thier first trainer, i knew i would be home before them but 3 minutes after i got home 20 all came together................pretty pleased with that, 2 that didnt come with them are still missing so i think its the last ive seen of them.......one of them i had an idea it wouldnt come back because whenevr i let them out it would fly to the tree near my loft and just sit in it until the others landed, the other bird which is away im a bit gutted over as i had high hopes for it racing......im thinking maybe a hawk attack but as they all came in a group and not split up ive sort of ruled that out..........

anyway, same again for the next few days then into the club trainer........

well done david i sent mine to thirsk wich is 15-20 miles and lost all 27 never had a feather home last night and now i have 12 home ... so looking a short seasan for me ...

sorry to hear that mate,how many chucks had they had before the thirsk and how far had they been.hope you get some more home yet.

hi mick they have been out every day for 2 weeks ... they had a dozen chucks from black swan pub then 5 nights from hosmoverly and then 2 from tuntine and then thirsk 1 morrning then next night this happens ....

hi phil, seems as tho they have had decent training then.........sometimes things happen along the route home ie bops/wires etc, how did the others do who sent birds ? did they have heavy losses ?

hope you get some more home phil.

5 members sent 200+ birds and one bloke sent 74 and never had a birds home till very late on then all had 1 bird each till morrning then bloke wich sent 74 as got 50 back when i come home at 830 ..... other lad wich sent 45 had 3 missing at same time and then im 10 missing other lad is 5 missing out of 25 then worst lad only had 15 left from week befor and he only got 3 home today he dont know yet as he on holiday till friday ...

seems a very bad training toss then phil, hawks can account for one or two but not that amount..............is the bloke whos taking them clued up on safe places to release them ? has this happened before or is it a one off.....?

this is a one off this one all rest have been fine all home on time

still would get some back yet then i would emagine..................... more maybe in the morning.

thanks don, if i can get thurs, fri and sunday from the same place i will be able to get them onto the club trainer monday.......... left it a bit late i think but might just get there for the first race.

hope so ian, your two exchange birds came well so hopefully they will be at that first race on the 31st..........
