hi all ive been feeding my birds on breed and wean since january, they are far too heavy so i need to get the weight down a wee bit.i was thinking of mixing some depuritive into the feed or should i just go straight onto depuritive?or is their something else i can use.since the darker nights are set in they dont get out so often.only weekends.

Cut down on amount fed to start.. Then start to break them down to a duperitive mix. Up to you if you go 100% duperitive but I'd say 50/50.. But def cut down amount fed. Also give them a pigeon tea. Helps with the breaking down

ive got mine on 50% super diet and 50% best all round until breeding, as you will know diet is small seeds with linseed in it which should have been good for the moult and also the 50/50 mix will have kept the weight down.... |

Treit your birds like human beings dont forget its cold they will eat more it wont ert them this time of the year you have plenty of time to sought that out later my advice is give your birds what they wont during the cold weather and dont keep them short at this time of the year they need it

Must say always liked to feed 50% barley and a good moulting mix and would always let the birds bath in luck warm water once a week, having the water warm helps the pigeons relax and the pigeon will dry better compared to cold water
