Test Lofters update 1

just a quick update to let you know that the test lofters are progressing well, i thought Kenny would have been able to put the photo's on which he took last sunday, but he must be having computer probs as he aint been on site since....

The birds are going out now daily and i have just started to knock the older 13 up, the 6 babies which came on wednesday have been out twice...

the older 13 are now starting to trap as i wish, the younger ones i pick up put on the board then they dive through

so all in all progressing well

sounds as though everything is going well mark great stuff,

oh, and will be putting on the dark as of tomoz

think the testlofters will be yearlings by the time mine get there..............

not be long now david.......they all soon catch up

seperated all ybs todqay, they went in the yb section with all the hens so hope they get fed ok..............had to part now because our first race is on the 9th april so need to get some training in and get the cocks onto widowhood......

dont rush the youngsters for the sake of the first couple of old bird races........youngsters are your future!!

could have sent um flying to the nest first 2 races david wont harm um

need to get these cocks going though, they have only had two newark 56 miles as ybs........so if i dont get them in the first old bird race which is newark it means im already jumping them to somewhere they have never been before to the second race.....

remember my birds havnt been out of the loft since last year, so i`ll need to give them a weeks exercise around home before i start training myself, then onto the club training.

Everything still progressing well with the test loft, birds are on the darkness (since clocks altered) and maturing superb.

All are flying well and looking a treat, we had our first casualties on Thursday night when hawk went through them (didnt take any but spooked them all).......3 still missing at present but hope these get chance to get back now the wind has calmed and changed direction.

They are all being fed a mixture of 2 parts breeding, 1 part peas, 1 part beans and 1 part barley and developing a treat, this heavy mix ensures they all have enough body if they do make a mistake.

All are trapping within seconds when called in.

hope the testlofters do well for the members who have entered, might be able to joing myself if you do it again nex year. will be interesting keeping up to date with how they are doing.

yes they have alex, i sent 4 ybs...........

Will put a revised list up of the testers sometime this week as going to basket them up and give them a couple of short tosses towards back end of week weather permitting

All i can say at the minute is there are 22 youngsters of outstanding quality in that section and i know that the red rocket of Dons is still there...........LOL

looking forward to the revised list and hearing how they do mark.....................
