first strike of the year at the loft!!

had the first strike at the loft this afternoon, had the old birds out and just let the gold ringers & breeder/buyers out for the first time after spending a week in the box avairy....luckily i was in the yb loft and looking out when the bitch appeared.....one young breeder/buyer was just fluttering from one platform to the other when the old birds scattered everywhere and the big bastard was there with talons out chasing the baby behind the loft....

managed to get out and round the loft to scare off and coax the baby back out the bushes, picked it up and took it back to its platform were it ran in.......

sneaky little bastard have to have eyes up ya arse

sorry to hear of the attack mark, do you not have an air gun/rifle with you when exercising..........i will be doing this year.

i know it might happen too quick to react but you never know it might justhappen one time when you can get a clear shot at it.......

you very rarely see them mate, they just come bombing through the trees........evil....

are we talking about sparrow hawks mark ? your right about them apearing out of no where....ive had it here at my loft, but on the odd occasion it has landed on my fence and ive often thought if only i had my air rifle with me.........its a chance in a million i suppose but in future i`ll make sure i always have it handy...
