| just read it ken, im in agreement anyway......would really make it interesting and also would encourage more to take part if we are able to do it next year as well. |

| maybe ken, would be interesting to hear any other ideas if someone has one.....its true what you say re new blood coming into the loft without forking out a lot of money, and also more incentive to maybe win with an exchange bird. |

| i know phil, im russhing down every morning to see if they hava laid........ dont usually bother, they lay when they lay....but might be because ive some new stock birds this year and eager to get some ybs from them.... |

| david have taken 24 eggs off stock and floated in widowhood they are all full no fresh eggs iam happy so far so good just waiting for second round now |

| nest boxes, shaving, tobacco stalks, straw, 1 pr laid egg yesterday on pile of straw put on floor in corner for them to take to nests |

phil, if the hen lays on the tuesday the second is laid on the thursday.......or 1st wed, 2nd fri.......there is one full day inbetween and i count 19 days from the first egg laid till they hatch. |

| thanxs all for the info .... ive got six bowls filling up with straw and 3 more pairs wich ive had looked up to pair them and then philip got to black racers gifed yesterday ... and they where already paired up so ive put them in a box and locked them up with plenty of straw in the box ...just they never been split all year |
