| always give a mixture of grits min etc but give fresh everyday and always keep it covered just add it each day this saves it getting soiled and damp a dry loft is a good loft a damp one is heading for trouble damp breeds germs a happy content dry loft is what we should all aim for more time spent observing the birds and loft is far better than spending money on this that and the other happy flying
TIP try putting a pot of salt in the loft on a damp day then check it the salt should be as dry as the time you put it in not clogged up or hard make sure its out of the reach of your birds
ive also done this when we had a static caravan if you put about 10 bowls of salt in your caravan in winter it will take out all the moisture this saves your windows and curtains furniture geting damp and mouldy
