I am starting to train mine a little and hope to get them going more soon. But as you know I live a long way away from the general public on this site.

thats a problem i have at the moment, my older birds are flying and the youngers second rounders are only fluttering around just now, and cannot compete against the older birds at feeding time, so ive had to seperate them into two sections for now.

i have mine living seperat but once the older ybs have had a fly i then let the younger birds out and they all peck around the loft which learns the younger ones to know where they live and stay around home untill they are a bit older/bigger.

Just started; 3 chucks and coming ok so far. I think I might be a bit early as we don't start the YB program until the 3rd Sat in Jul but was prompted by Mark getting the One-lofter's going plus I'll be taking it gently for the next 2 weeks and they're accompanied by at least one yearling, I can't risk a big loss as I've only got the 10.

yes your right darren, ive only got 12 older ybs which have been on the dark longer........so if i can keep the younger 23 ybs dark for a while longer it might stop them dropping to bits and hold the wing flights a bit longer.......

your too early alex should have waited until the longest day about three weeks time, it will make a difference |
