easy bed for us,it gives us more time with our birds ,ie to observe them and so on ...we leave it in all season.plus you look at the droppings on the box not the floor |

| I only ever have used any sort of horse bedding on the floor, just to give it a try. I would never ever use it again or anything else for that matter. I lost all of my first round down to salmonella. I would never use anything containing lime as there are some nasties tha like alkaline environments. For me it would have to be clean floors and any bedding would be in the nestboxes. Once the yougbirds have been weaned, I put them in a sperate section on soft hay, but check it first to make sure its not dusty or smells mouldy. |

| nothing wrong with using lime as long as you brush it up i don,t think your yb would have died as a result of lime as it kills germs and drys all the damp patches up probably another underlying problem , also they use lime to cure ybs put some lime in a bucket and fill it with water when its settled over night tip the water in to a drinker ive never used it but i know a lot who do |

| ive used lime for years but only a bit on the floor then brush it up yes i agree about the smell but my lofts are well ventilated and i only do it when the birds are out so it give it time for any dust particals to fall . |

| If you look at the small is beautiful pigeon films there was one done on Henry Gonzales of Bristol and Billy O'Neil of Dudley Port
Billy was a all time great pigeon fancier and loved the distance and he always used epsom salts on there return back from a race
I was Billy's apprentice until my dad messed everything up and got rid of my mom for his daughter who also hated me and she is the reason why me and my dad don't have anything to do with one another anymore |
