| young roller laid egg monday openened up this morning two eggs in the nest but both birds flew on to the house roof,though there would of been sitting the eggs,been on roof about hour and a half,its a dovecott type loft ive got them in with a door on,cheers any advice welcome |

| ah right, so have they been flying out since they were babies then frankie ? if so they will come back in, its just that if they had started to incubate the eggs properly they will probably be cold by now after nearly two hours........ |

| they shouldnt leave the eggs for 2 hours mate, half hour maybe, dont look like they are interested

| hi steve the cock birds sitting on the eggs after 2hours out,the hen bird came to the entrance the cock bird tried to stop it going in,finally got them locked in.just have to wait and see what happens,thanks for advice, frankie |

| hi lads opened up this morning both birds flew out at 8 oclock the eggs are warm at the moment thought there would be a bird on the eggs at all time. |

| hi steve both birds hung about for an hour,then the cock bird sat on the eggs,the hen bird came in about 9.20,so ive locked them away for the day.ps, hope ime not boring you but i know very little about pigeons.cheers frankie |

| hi frankie, if it was me i would leave the coop open, then they can come in and out as they please, and also get the routine of changing over the sitting......with it only being small i would liken iit to locking a cock and hen in there nestbox....if you open it they would both probably come out into the loft just as yours are doing, then one would go back and incubate the eggs after a while....
if theres no danger of cats etc, this is what i would do personally. |

| hi dave pretty lucky with cats dont see many where we live probably cos theres a chinese cafe nearby.l.o.l. going to keep it open dill dusk at the mo the cock birds on the nest the hen is just flying round the block at the moment.cheers frankie |

| aye dave the local pigeon men have lost quite a few to the hawks,in fact i seen what looked like a couple of buzzards riding the thermals a couple of days ago,seemed quite a lot bigger than sparrow hawk or kestrel.cheers frankie |
