Thought the width was 12" and 24" deep ?? i was thinking width, so four boxes in a 4 ft width across , rather than two at 24" , ......are they the deep widowhood boxes with an open front and a nestbox front in the middle of the box, ....if that makes sense |

That is one big box i don`t think i could go that big , the loft is only going to be 12 x 8 with two 6 ft sections, |

Like you Ray I like big boxes also, mine are 24"x24"&18 inches high etc, I have/like a shelf in them at the back, just so they can escape type of thing when they lay the next round. Stops a lot of trouble for what I have found. ***** |

Think i`ll keep em at 24" width but go deeper , i`ll keep the width because i`ll get three boxes across the 6 ft width and then just stack em high ...........cheers like the idea of more space |

- i use open fronted boxes around 2x16x16, i also use pipo boxes, bits of plywood lent up against the walls of the loft, i use deep litter the birds will find seclusion where they like, i dont breed from the race team so it dont matter where they go, (or who with) as long as they are happy, they will perform, in short the loft is one big nest box?.
Edgie !!!!!! I like the scientific approach of yours etc, with the plywood. I new a bloke once who had card board boxes everywhere in the loft & the birds loved him for it, cheap & easily replaced as they say. Thou !!!!! one never quite new what you would find at times, when you turned them around to see what was inside. PS he flew a cracker of a pigeon. ***** |

| I would make them 25x18x15 a pigeon can sit on a twig so 4" is ample once box is closed off |
