| whilst clening the loft i checked eggs and saw that a 09 bird had one egg bigger than the other they are both fertile is it normal |

| I can remember a young hen of mine laying an egg the size of a blackbirds egg it was tiny, didnt hatch though. |

| could it have been because she was young and not developed properly martyn, i once had a young hen lay something strange which was just like jelly stuff with a strange shell type thing on it....? |

| I think I mentioned a while back that a hen a yearling laid an egg on the perch with no shell, perfect but no shell. Somone said give the birds grit and minerals as they are lacking. Well I can tell you thats rubbish my birds get fresh grit and minerals every day plus calcium so that wasnt the problem. Thing is I just think that happens sometimes, you dont always need a reason for it and it doesnt mean there is a problem. she laid fine when paired up 2 loverly eggs. |

yes martyn i agree, it doesnt mean there is anything wrong with the bird........as you say the next eggs would/could be normal, maybe its just one of these things that seem to hapen with young hens ? |
