To me the first thing you have to do is at the bottom of the new shed you should get that 3 by 2 coverd has you have it open to all weathers and that will go very quick, get all the branches out and put what we box perches along the back wall about 10 by 10 inches dont no the new numbers, and get some lovers along the bottom to get some air around the shed that is one one the main things to have good air flow, I hope you dont mind me telling you but that is what I would do I will be shot down hope it helps a bit, take all that is told and use what sauts you best, good luck mate fine job up to now.

the small first pic the ply is covered by the white pvc board put pics in wrong order nothing is exposed ,the branches dont impeed but will be cut back as you say thanks for replying. also want to no what size comparments to split into in the 10x10 section .cheers ie breed ing area etc,on the front of the add on the window is right size for a sputnik trap 970mm long so this is were i thought best for the young birds as they have accsess to the aviary area ,the other window can be removed to fit another sputnik for the cocks hens etc .

hi trev...I would create another 2 openings in the ply front 1 either side of the window for trapping then divide down the middle the full depth for cocks and hens but you will probably need a skylight for each section because of its depth and lack of light getting to the back of the sections ...the other section with aviary is ideal for ybs ,theirs so much you could do with that but that's what I would do I am sure their will be some other ideas forthcoming atb with your venture

why not if you had stock that was flying out ...ie some late bred young birds ...you could even make the partition down the middle 6ft across the front for cocks and 4 ft for hens creating a 10x6 for cocks and a 10x4 for hens with sputniks on the front of the plywood extension but ventilation is important and good air flow

air flow and ventilation is really important for the health of the birds trev that's one of yer main goals and that's the easiest way I can think of having it and creating natural air flow of course you could adopt a mechanical system but that's not a field I am familiar with

yes that plan is as I thought it to be m8 ...if you had sputniks on the front and a 2 inch gap across the whole of the back at the top where it meets the roof (mesh this over to stop rodents and vermin getting in) then you would have good air flow and not to much chopping about of yer shed you could have the front 2 feet with the sputniks on working as a corridor also you would be able to have a few corn bins their ...like I said theirs so much you could do but that's my tilt on it atb trev and the main thing is to enjoy the birds m8

Trev you might just like to keep in mind etc that an ideal section in my view, is one where you can stand in the middle type of thing & touch all 4 walls. Helps to keep the birds tame & that makes them much better than if they are ratty in there nature. Nice job so far etc & makes my chicken coop down the back here very ordinary looking. ***** |
