Finally got some birds

Finally got 4 stock birds I'm over the moon they are Roland Janssens I got a blue cheq cock a blue bar cock blue bar hen and a white grizzle hen

Yea thanks mate I have Roland Janssens so that the only strain I'm going to keep now to keep them as pure as I can so I'm going to get a few more off of louella pigeon world

hi every one i put some young birds for free on here jan arrdens and some soontjens from combine winners so did ray it may have been before this lad had asked just gave 8away today i also put on for free dvd on eye sing and a boat load of british homing world mags for free seem nobody whants out for free lol....cheers terryp...

re the eyesign dvd, yes I remember reading your offer, but I didn't put my hand up for it as I presumed it would be snapped up pretty sharpish.........

I look at them a lot and, I really wouldn't order anything without handling it to be honest, or you may be disappointed.
They are open every Sunday I think.
Going by looks alone, you can pick a gooden up for about £90 - £130,
Some of the cheaper pigeons on there look awful, like inbred freaks.
If your paying for them see them in the flesh.

don't be afraid to cross them birds with another strain danny ...crosses can race very well ...strains are only guys names and they cross all the time but they don't usually tell you with what

It's knowing what to cross them with but with time practice I will soon get some good birds

we had some very good pigeons from louella many years ago, im not sure how good they are now but in my opinion I wouldn't rush out paying silly money for pigeons whoever they are from.........I know its took a while for you to finally get hold of some birds, but believe it or not good pigeons do come up free every now and then.........

end of the racing season, there will be loads of pigeons available free danny, and they wont all be rubbish......... 

I did not know people got rid of birds after the racing season

yes they do danny, they need to get down to nest box numbers.....so im sure there will be plenty of birds needing a new home.......

I have never sold a pigeon. Have bought many but not for the last few years. I usually have to many. give the surplus to friends. stock birds, young birds etc,. Happens I get a lot killed by a four legged predator I just have to mention it and offers of birds from friends are always there if I need them. Many I have given away but never a dummy or poor pigeon. Many I have given away have produced winners. Just take your time acquiring birds. Try them and fly them. Never worry about having too few. Or strain names or whatever. Gift birds can be just as good if not better than 'feather merchant' birds. The point is this. Enjoy the sport. No better way to do it than get some good results. First birds to your loft. No matter of club position. They will score at the club level eventually. If not you either need better birds or a different management system. But do whatever makes you enjoy the sport. In time you should be able to tell if a bird is ready to race or not. The bird just has to look at you from his perch or fight you in his box. He is telling you he /she is ready. because of a lot of bad sportsmanship in one particular club, a flier quit. Open race next year coming up from 500 miles. One cock 'said 'I am ready!' He sent that one bird, never raced that year. Beat the club birds by well over an hour and the whole Fed by 20 minutes. you will pick it up in time. Good luck!
