The N.E.H.U race from Melton Mowbray 21/4/2012 was won by Peel bros of South Shields, they took 1st club 1st fed, also taking 2nd and 4th club and 15 of the 25 birds clocked in the club......well done Peel brothers.

You could go a little cheaper get some ashes (not cricket) from a cold fire or get some timber which has been in the fire and chard break it up into small pieces and place it in the loft
Just as good and cheap

Granulated charcoal (for fish tanks) should work. Add it to the water.

in my view it boils down to poor management, fanciers dont look at there birds hard enough, feeding is very important,after all you would not dream of giving a baby roast beef & yorkshire pud, so why give heavy corn to young pigeons ?
