To relax the cocks from any race give them a warm bath just like you having a hard day at work then you run yourself a bath it's just the same

If you use cold water you may give the pigeons a chill

I've never using hot water, but i did read about it relaxing the birds after a race. geek I dont think cold water will harm them, they are very resistant against cold. Question

david getting onto a different subject when pigeons go away to race and you get holdovers they dont release them when overcast but liberate in red hot weather i would rather they released them in colder weather then they have got a chance of getting back

yes, would be an easier race in colder weather i suppose, would be bad for them if held over in very hot weather and maybe be dehydrated and then having to fly home...

they would never hold over because the weather is too hot only if visability is poor or raining

Ian the reason for using warm water is to relax the pigeon after the race if you use cold water you will make the pigeon go stiff around the muscles and the pigeon will not relax
