| allways let mine have a bath morning before race, helps them keep calm gets the dust of them and they seem to fly better its a bit like a car when you wash it, it seems to go faster |

| Give mine a bath Sunday, I think it helps them unwind, I don't let them bath near race day as I don't want them to wash any oils from their feathers incase they hit rain. |

| I used to give my birds a bath on Sunday morning. I also think it helps the birds to unwind.
BUT - Don has a point though - giving them a bath on Thursday will do them a lot of good, clean the feathers and make them sleeker and give them less wind resistance.
It can't do any harm, in my opinion.

| if a bird is in top condition, and has a bath before the race, it will replace any oils it washes of very quickly , or it is not in top condition, and should not be sent in the first place ? |
