| from a racing piont of view what method do you use to achieve good racing pigeons for the years racing.is it the pedegree of the bird.do you buy birds which have a good reputation of breeding?do you buy eggs from top racing men?if you bred a bird that done very well for you in a yb race then does it get priority the next year for breeding.does anyone use the stud system?im just trying to understand the way racing men think. |

| If you want to do well the best thing to do is go to the best flyer in your area and ask if you can by some latebreds from him, then let them mature and train them on good days then race them as yearlings then see what is left at the end of the racing season
The late breds would be from his widowhood team as soon as the old birdseason if finished |

| will agree with steve, im like steve and restarting this year racing again and the birds i have bought are mainly either birds which have won racing or birds which have bred ybs to score, the ybs will then race and ill decide which if any are good or not and whichever if any win or place racing will be paired together next year............ so it will be best to best or winner to winner.......... |

| the replies are what i was thinking.do you keep track of parentage and the birds relation before pairing up?if you find a pair has reared a few good racers do you keep them paired the next year?i take it nobody uses the bull system then?using a stud cock to 3 or 4 hens at the same time?obviously you would need sitters.for the showing i think the cock bird is the most important and the hens are very ordinary but need to be good type. |

| All pairing are write down in a book for that year by doing this yes you can trace back the parent of certon pigeons |
