| ian david just been reading on other site looking for somethink to get for y/b sickness as that what it looks me birds have ... and come across this i hope u dont mine its from other pigeon sight copied and pasted bleach
never had the full blown YBS; if I see a yb holding corn, or one has thrown their nights meal up, all I do is, the next day put a spoonfull of bleach in the water; it just disinfects it so the problem isnt passed round. Then its up to the yb itself to sort it out, I think its better if they overcome it themselves, but by the next night doing that they are usually back on, if not they get removed from the team. |

| Thought i would throw this one into the debatei dont use bleech , but what i do use is the sterilizatin stuff you buy for cleaning babys bottle ect, which if you think about it is a very mild form of bleech, the purpose is to kill any bacteria lurking on the drinkers, thus reducing the risk of ur birds picking up any nasties, when my drinkers have been cleaned useing this solution i dont rince them off, so when the water is added there is still traces of the solution there, so in away you can say i use a mild bleech solution in keeping my drinkers free or reducing the bacteria level on my drinkers, this is just my thoughts Ken |

| Ken, have used milton to clean the fountains out as i had 2 sets once cleaned out i would use boiling water to rinse the fountains out and leave to dry then rinse out again just to make sure they were cleaned out
Then they would be used the following week |

| Interresting topic. I think good hygiene, good loft management , there would be no need for bleach in drinkers. Although i used it in the past, i would not do it again LOL. |
