how long have you been racing pigeons ?, what year did you send in your first race ? .

1971 for me , young birds

We have had pigeons twice first were 1990/96 flying to the back of the house and then we restarted in 2011 flying on a allotment.

Kept pigeons since 1979 started racing 1983

ive had pigeons twice too, think I first started when I was around 16 years old, just keeping strays and fantails in allotements, then took them home to my mams house where I joined a club and raced until 1986 when we packed in and sold them all......then about 6 years ago I got the notion of keeping 6 as pets, which was a big mistake......im now over crowded

1974 in partnership with me grandfather

1974 with tumblers amd crosses of allsorts kept in rabbit hutches and open hole all day. Then racers only in converted garden shed from 1976, won first card of 2nd club 1978, progressed to better things racing by 1998 getting more than my share then vacated allotment and sold lofts. Raced 6 widowhood cocks again in 2002 winning 3 x races with broken 2 yr olds but never got back into the birds seriously because of work and family commitments, still go to big shows and the odd auction, still consider starting again but there always seems to be something comes along and puts a stop to it. Maybe start racing Ybs only, empty the loft over the winter and get a team of YBs to play about with each year keep it simple?
