Pigeon photos..........

as some of you know im feeding a local fanciers whos in the same club as me`s birds for the week, im sure he wont mind me posting a couple of pics of his birds for members to see as some of his birds are lovely looking............the pictures do not do these birds justice.

should see his ybs don, unbelievable.......the fancier who owns them is an elderly man and doesnt clean out every day like i do, but the condition of his birds are second to none and make some of mine look like streeters........

David there is one fancier in Bilston Roy Harris and he has never and i mean never cleaned out his loft for over forty years and when you go in his loft the shit forms the nest bowls but he wins big short or long but he likes the long distance

yes but theres no excuse for not cleaning out its lazyness i like my birds clean

im same ian clean everyday except sunday, on the 7th day he rested, i took easibed out good but made a mess

i clean mine out twice a week but a guy over here only cleans his loft once a year he wins out of turn and his bird are heathy and fit he treats for worm and canker he's not hat trouble with ybs and you dont see a lice on them either

i clean mine once a day now,then twce a day when the racing starts

Rene fanciers who win out of turn can be glad of good pigeons, because no sign of a good fancier there.

i like to have a clean loft but as i said i only do mine twice a week the guy must have had good birds for the last 9-10 years this is how long hes been doin deep litter and been winnin his boxes are cleaned every day

i usually clean out once a day and have decided to put laysoft bedding in with the breeders, now i clean the nestboxes every day and remove droppings off the floor every day but this saves me time compared to not having the laysoft giving me more time to spend with my ybs..........which are let out every day and the floor scraped every day with a covering of floor white.....

David like pic No 1 i like to clean the lofts daily, but do know of fanciers that only clean out on sat when birds away at race point, but thats not for me

Must say always cleaned out everyday even twice a day in the racing season

Must say Roys loft is very bry, but roy likes his pigeons to be relaxed and likes them to be content in there own environment

As roy says happy pigeons, good results, happy fancier

That's terrible - why did he do that? I know you mentioned he was elderly but what a waste, they were fabulous looking birds. Did he race them and if so did he do ok?

hi steve, yes the man raced his birds but decided these stock birds were too old as some of them were 9 - 10 years old...........he killed them and they fed the ferrets for the week, he did ask me if i wanted them but i said no....not realising what was going to happen to them or i would have took them to rehome if i had known.

such a shame alex, like i said....the pictures didnt do the birds justice, they were lovely birds.

What breed were they? Does he still race and if so how does he do?

I still can't believe they ended up as ferret food, but maybe I've got too much sentiment!
