| I would like to know what you guys' opinion is on feeding birds before basketing them and taking them to the club. Someone at our club tonight said that you should never feed birds within 4 hours of basketing. Do you agree? And do you have any other comments to make?

| I've just got back from our club basketing birds, we are at Newbury around 116 miles, I probably handled 40 birds and not 1 of them had food in their crop, |

| depends on the distance. 300 miles morning feed. Over that distance feed what they will eat until noon. However!! tough weather forecast feed more. Rice holds water more than most grains so always wise to include some. White rice. Cannot fly on a pea and a promise. |

| if I was racing old birds it would be widowhood cocks, and would gradually build the feed up towards the end of the week, giving as much as they want Thursday evening, then maybe a light morning feed Friday....with small seed mid day to encourage them to drink. |
