This years young birds are real soap dodgers, I always put the bath out for them, but I can count the baths they’ve had on one hand, other years they’ve dived in every time I’ve put it out.
I thought they’d love a bath in this hot weather.

"very impressive avartar etc" Smile Smile Some say if they don't bath its a bad sign, but I suggest on average it means little either way Boosey. Mine have the bath in front of them for 3/4 days on the trot as such & some times its full of bloom & other times its not & in 3 races bounce bounce so far, I've had 1 first & 2 seconds in my club with good section places type of thing. Nice always to see them all enjoying a bath, but the main thing it is there for them to choose when I would suggest. cheers

younger they are the more frequent they will bathe once they mature and discover the opposite sex
they don't seem as keen to go in more than once a week.

Never had a problem, the pigeons could and did bath in the waterfall of the pond when THEY felt like it and no fancier can read a pigeons mind, can see no reason why a bath should not be available all the time, the pigeon will then act according to nature and not guess work by the fancier.

Regards.
