Got the bale of straw. No plywood. Straw down and in boxes. All racing cocks excited. Just busting their chops in anticipation. Original plan to mate Feb 1st then hen loft free for young birds. Mate Feb 1st then eventually dump eggs etc,. So looked at it another way. If I am going to dump eggs then why wait to mate them? Tommorow the hens go with the cocks and all are happy. Good days they will get out to fly. Lose some to predators so be it. No lights on for them. Just the water lights. Natural daylight. Minus 16 C tonight so cold.

Maybe if we had six foot of snow and made it impossible for parliament to meet for a few weeks the MP s could come to their senses.
Just read several different well known journalists etc; opinions on the Brexit all of which agree that the MPs are behaving in a undemocratic manner and in essence should be ashamed of their behavior.
Not one has a good word for any of them.
One would have thought that the irresponsible must recognize that there will be a price to pay for there bad behavior but ultimately it will be the ordinary man in the street that will be the losers, the irresponsible will have made "arrangements" to safeguard their welfare.
Tuesday night may throw some light on the matter.
Regards.

Must admit Misty I'm not big on the preying issue etc . But prepared to do my thing here in that department as such to help you with your Brexit fiasco scenario there . *****

Not so much the cold as the Wind Chill factor. Zero outside with a strong wind can get to minus 20 and so on. Snow nest week. Lots of it. But got the birds sorted out. All yearlings in a loft together. 30 some. 18 older hens put in with 18 older cock racers another loft. All will fly. Have way too many!.

Same here Hal with the wind chill factor as such. Years ago here 2 young Scottish lads called into my club for a look see type of thing on race night. Complained about the wind chill factor on the night there, as they said is was far worse than when back home. Couldn't understand also how a couple of tragic types "no names" on the night were wearing just shorts & a tee shirt type of thing . Remember them also making the comment they had never seen such a weird type mob in all their travels, on the pigeon circuit . Also mention they couldn't believe how we transported our pigeons in steel units as such in winter & then actually got them home at the end of the day, compared to their way of doing things back home.
