With open loft Hal, they have it every day and am sure they know what is and is not what is good for them.

No good starting a new post but think it worth mentioning.

A man who ran a fishing business involving fish worth thousands of pounds (some as reported £40,000 each.)

He was being targeted by otters that were decimating his stock.

He shot one and was jailed for two months.

He had no means of redress for the thousands of pounds lost in stock.

These otters have been released unnaturally, as have many raptors.

I once wrote to the appropriate Government department pointing out that in other countries where protected species cause damage compensation is paid.

I still have the reply, we are very sorry for the losses etc; but in essence get stuffed.

It would not be as bad if those causing all the trouble were as a result of nature but they are not, they have been introduced in an artificial manner.

Afraid all the minority groups get away with murder.

Whilst we have cosy meetings with now defunct MPs.

Not heard from the Raptor Alliance lately.

Regards.

Now Smile Smile took me back in time here thou (50 odd years) when the icon & I travelled to South Australia (1000 miles) to bring in the gits/jurion type birds into our breeding lofts from a total clearance auction there & we bunked down at a flyers place for the weekend there & he did would you did on a regular type basis with the dirt thing Smile Smile. Also, would you believe bounce bounce we travelled  a 1000 miles & we went from suburb to surburb in different states of the same name as we both still live in even today here & the 2nd thing was Wink Wink the man having the auction had a champion stock hen at the time called the Gits hen by all & sundry on the block & he didn't wish the locals to have it in any way shape or form because of his mean type nature as such  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes even thou she was 12 years old at the time. End of the story Very Happy Very Happy she come home as a freebee with a few other feather leg red types bought at the auction by the icon & I & the first year breeding here she bred a good fed spot for the icon at the distance which made her final tally in the end 13  Wink  Wink by our local standards here  Smile  Smile. cheers

As long as the raptors eat the doves here, the pigeons should be OK.

Just read where fancier fined £450.00 for killing sparrow hawk, it was in a field close to his loft and had been attacking his pigeons, he had shot it and the RSPB said it was caused unnecessary pain.

Think if he had shot it on his own land he could have contested the matter and we would know where the sport stands.

If it was killing his pigeons £450.00 a reasonable price.

Regards.

Just wonder thou Wink Wink if anyone asked them about the pain factor there, when they attack & rip pigeon flyers birds to pieces as such  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad. cheers

The idiots put raptors antics down to nature, true, but nothing is more natural than a fancier wonting to protect his feathered friends.

A good shot is a far quicker death than being plucked to death.
