farewell mate

i got the sad news today that roly/daz passed away on monday ,farewell roly you put up a brave fight ,right up to the end ...now may you rest in peace mate ,sincere thoughts are with his wife joyce and his family and goes without saying we will all miss him here as he was one of our own ,god bless you roly

sad news, he was only on here 3 days ago telling us about the latest treatment ....daz / roly was a great member on here, it was a pleasure knowing him during his time here, and on other forums.

RIP Roly, you will be missed by a lot of people .

Very sad to hear, always made time to contribute to the site, never complained about his illness, RIP.

Words cannot express the feelings I have for Daz, we did not see eye to eye on some aspects of our belief but I truly believe he was a Christian through and through and will be rewarded accordingly.

Rest in peace Daz and hopefully may we meet one day.

Heartfelt sympathy to all his family and friends.

just a bit of information i have just read on another group, about our friend roly / daz ......some members may find interesting ,

In his younger days he was a bare knuckle fighter and took on the best in the country, he then put on a pair of gloves and became a pro fighter and amongst his many bouts he fought three world champions ( that was before they became world champions, but none would give him a rematch ) He then became a promoter of boxing and entertainment booking acts like Shirley Bassey and many top acts of the time.

One would never have guesed Daz had led such a varied life.

Would have been interesting to hear some of his exploits from himself.

What I do believe he eventualy realised the meaning of life and then acted accordingly.

yes i agree misty, i did know he was involved in boxing, but not to the extent he was ....it certainly would have been nice to know more about his life and his adventures .

That was really interesting to read just a shame Roly keep it quiet would have loved to have heard more about his boxing days

Same here also Ray etc I'm sadly. Agree or disagree with what he posted at times, one always knew he posted with the best of intent from the heart & his great love of the birds over many years on many different type forums I suspect &  also along with his general faith in his religion type of thing to help keep him somehow honest in his beliefs & thoughts till the end I suggest.

roly was writing a book about his life,he sent me the chapters about his boxing in his early days and was a great read,some character for sure and will be missed

A real character type      was our Daz etc I suggest O/S fortunately. Found his calling from my perspective with the internet from the very early days on different pigeon forums as such. Cut/copy/paste wizard so writing a book would have been right up his alley somehow I suspect Will always remember here with affection, his little Joyce moments & was the type of bloke that I would like beside me in a dark alley on a dark night etc instead of some squeaky voice       lip stick, nail polish male excuse copper type of today many know, if somehow some piss head black fella type come at me  with a broken bottle as such there .

a great girl to have on your side is rolys joyce ,he often spoke of her with great affection and her attributes as a partner and nurse ,i feel for her and good that you mentioned her as one can often forget those left behind and the grief they find themselves in thoughts are with rolys good lady
