last year had 4 ybs did not grow but did look ok but handled thin could that have been lack of water they were fine when weaned

yes could well have been george, water is the main thing they need i reckon.......

ive also noticed if the parents have water in their nest box they tend to feed their ybs better .

i always do george, even if you dont feed in the box i would always dip their beaks in the drinker when weaned, some of them are slower to learn so in that time they could start going backwards .......and once going backwards they rarely recover in my experience anyway .

forgot to say, went in loft this morning and one egg has been laid ........only paired up saturday afternoon so i cant see the egg hatching, it cant be fertile surely.

i reckon the hen was going to lay anyway when they were separated .
