The commercial boys have probably spilt some ink onto some salt by accident and thought hey here goes looks good and there are some real idiots about.

ah right, theres always something new being sold for the pigeon fancier...... chances are like a lot of products it makes no difference .

Apparently a natural rock salt from abroad.

Dig a ton up crush it put it in fancy containers and Bobs your uncle.

Fanciers have used rock salt blocks for as long as I can remember some i think had iodine in them, just let the pigeons pick at them.

Never used them myself.

The more commercial products you use the more problems you will have.

the shelves are full of pigeon products when i go, im sure most of them make absolutely no difference to the pigeons, its just a money making scheme because they know the pigeon fancier is always on the look out for some magic potion to help them win races .

i remember a few years ago on here, a member suggested those salt licks and ray peel gave his birds them, he found one of them dead the next morning .......

When I was young there were very few commercial aids to win, Old Hand the only ones I remember.

Fanciers used all kinds of home made concoctions based on natural elements.

Very few were lost racing and certainly not from just down the road, training was by train and I never knew a fancier send their pigeons less than 15 miles, none of the 5 mile none sense, or the next field.

The pigeons were basically healthy and some capable of flying from Rome

Friends and myself started our pigeons off before being able to join the club at 10 miles by bus, just one basket between us and put under the bus stairs where the prams go just one of us would go taking it in turns.

Cannot remember actually losing a pigeon at that time.

Sport been ruined by commercialism and bad management by studs not getting rid of ill pigeons that breed their like needing constant medication etc;

Think it impossible to go back to naturally healthy pigeons.

Appears they are both mentally and physically wrecks.

remember dad training by train and helping to carry the basket to the club also remember birds bought and a year later escaping and flying back to the old loft hundreds of mls away

I think the blue stuff will be something like epsom salts or sea salt with some colouring added. I'll get some at Doncaster show, let you know if it works

As said previously no need to speculate just google it, gives where it is from all the so called properties all of which are in natural feed.

Just one more thing for those who try anything that the commercial boys put up.

Pigeons need no additives to the right kind of natural feed, that is until you see a swift outside the chemists.

Wised up years ago down here etc Misty thankfully. Before even Bilco & the commercial boys first hit town in a big type way in a pigeon sense Colloidal Silver was my awaking moment here fortunately. Buy it for Pounds make it for pennies type thing with very little effort.

All part to a degree maybe, of the con scenario O/S in a pigeon sense I'm with our blue water moment here is just perhaps the latest one type thing I suspect/suggest. End of the day I may be just a dumb **** type down here but I will I'm   still stick somehow with my bag of pool salt for my birds bath here etc at 7 dollars for a typical 20 kg type bag .

I gave it a miss George mate, small tub of bath salts 10 times more expensive than BM bargain shop. Plenty we're buying though, probably the buy 2 get a free bath was tempting them

Great show though, getting bigger every year.

i remember condys crystals/pottasium permagnate being sold for pigeons bath water and that was blue in colour,i just wonder if these bath salts are the same stuff

used that in the 80s when had the showracers

think they banned it george as could be used for wrong reasons if i remember correctly

seems Tumleys sell this salt at £12 a tub so buy one get one free for £24 looks like a con
