| hi everyone whats best to feed now the mix is made up from wheat,barley,white peas,maize,blue peas,maple peas,tic beans, red dari basically high carb low energy low protein for the off period am i going about it right or do i have to give them a bit of oil seed in the mix like lineseed or hemp seed any tips information would be much apreciated

| 40 percent barley now mate and winter mix if your birds are throu the moult like mine if not throu the moult yet 30 percent barley and your seed |

| bought a decent winter/resting mix from crowthers in wakefield, only £7 a 25kg bag....all sorts of nice seed in it by the look of it. giving linseed would be good for them i would have thought, wouldnt do them any harm.......  |

| hi littlehen, dont know off hand but ill have alook tommorrow and let you know......seems a nice mix tho, plenty of different seeds in it and cheap too........lol, £7 a 25kg bag....  |

| i make my own bag of barley bag of wheat and a bag of economy and mix it all look good on this until breeding , already bought 4 bags of super widowhood for next year |

| hi ian, thats what i wanted to do last week when i went to crowthers.....i got 2 bags of the winter/resting mix which will last me to the end of december when im pairing up, i wanted to get 2 bags of breeding mix as well which should have seen me over the breeding season so that i could then go and buy the racing mix......but as i didnt know what breeding mix was good to buy i didnt get it so im wanting to find out off our members what they reccomend then ill go buy some.  |

| what i do for breeding is use a versa laga breed mix and keep a pot in each box always topped up with maple peas , |

| The best seeds to use are oily seeds linseed ect helps put that shine to the feathers |

hi don, is this for winter mix ? the mix i have contains barley and wheat (i think) a lot of different small seeds and some bluey coloured peas i think? what are these....? also it has a very small amount of maize which is quitw small.....  |

| yes don i like the look of it, i dare say there is better but im happy with it......plus the price is very reasonable too. at my local corn shop its £11.95 for a bag of crap so i can get 3 for ythe price of two, plus its better stuff....  |
