| ive found my birds tend to leave / waste a lot of maize when feeding young birds, not good really when the price of corn goes up every time i go for some .... |

| im planning on using a mix more economical, something that doesnt get wasted as much ....i think they need a balanced diet with an overall mix of different seeds, just not one with a lot of maize in it . |

| Always used the same mix all the year round.
One bag of young bird mix with maize, one bag of trapping mix added to which was a small bag of pea nuts and linseed and hemp, the latter two small amounts.
Got the same amount of each every day.
Doubt if any pigeon got the same diet two days runniing.
But results better than words.
Regards. |

| ill be off for corn one day during the week, it will be just an all round one for a few weeks longer until i pair up or until eggs are about to hatch ........this bamfordsall round is ok but not the best, so ill beon the look out for something that doesnt have too much maize in it, or alternatively something with a high protein content .
i think the bamfords all round was £14 - £14.50 a bag |

We used to do the same, it was on an honesty basis, unfortunately honesty did not prevail and at the end of the season it was obvious some had not recorded taking several bags. Regards. |

| The fact is that pigeons have won and put up great performances fed on nearly every mixture or lack of mixture possible.
From beans only to all the latest mixtures that need supplliments to offset the goodness taken out when polishing.
A commercialisms paradise kept afloat by the foolish.
The prettier the package the more gullible the fancier.
If there was one certain way it would have been discovered by now but nothing will turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

Think I said earlier David, when I could not get wheat for the townies I got a sack of barley, The townies would not touch it for a few days until they were too hungry not to, certainly not o a seed they like. But as a kid I could have lived on ice cream by choice but doubt very much the result would have been acceptable. Regards. |
