| That is a thing of the past decker
With the natural system you have to have different sections set up for different times were the motivation of the pigeon kicks in
but with widowhood you have pigeons in form a lot longer compared to the naturals |

| Don is spot on mate, natural flyers can hold there own over distance, with longer more difficult races. But for the everyday fancier competing week in week out you will hardly ever win against top widow and rounders. |

| I would agree pretty much what been said. especially harsh weather because they seem to to recover quicker for some reason. But for me, personally, I think roundabout hens will take some beating when you have got them right. |

| Gaz Im swaping from widow to roundabout this year for that reason, plus I have twice as many hens to race than cocks so just makes more sence...but Im new to roundabout so need help. Some say leave hens in the box side(cocks side0 AL DAY AFTER EXCERCISE AND SOME SAY PUT THEM BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM? SO iM LEARNING. |

| I let the cocks out through an opener in their section Then I have a trap door under the cocks boxes which I will open so the hens can enter the cocks section, they will then be left in that section for a couple of hours and the cocks will trap into the hens section through the trap after training. the hens section is only a small section with narrow small box perches. I have a few little addition tricks also for a little extra motivation, one is where the hens can go in and out of a passageway under the cocks boxes so they can hear each other and a few other little motivational tactics that I am going to install after I finish breeding, these include mesh sliders, fold down single perches and a few additional cocks for later on in the race programme. I don't think there are any real hard and fast rules. Like anything else all trial and error mate. Best of luck Martyn. |

| Is that really true lads, and why there isnt muh info out there about it? Is it so different to widowhood where everyone nearly does everthing the same way give or take a few variations? Because Im not sure about anything, I havent paired up yet but when should I pair the racers? |

| i fly natural but mine are on open hole all day till its gets dark then a few training chucks before racing starts , but if i had the time and money then they would get a 30 miler every day to make them work , but like people have said you can,t really compeat with the w/hood sysstem and round about system with natural observation plays a big part so keep your eyes open watch every thing in and around the loft . |

| I fly natural, as I am only interested in longer races I dont seperate the birds they are together all the time all I do is take the bowls out in september and they stay like that untill I am ready to mate up put the bowls back in and they are away, I get some wins with the closer races but I call that a training and a bonenes If you diside to do natural you have to get use to some times being last, some ave said to me why dont you do widowhood or roundabout, and I say as long as I am happy with my bĂrds and I like what they do thats what pigeons are all about injoy them, you cant win all the races. |
