| here is one for you ,5400 miles -ichabo isle , w,africa to nine elms , London , (dropped dead one mile from loft) 55 days , liberated 1st june 1845 , owned by duke of wellington , 5,400 miles is approximate airline distance , but as a bird could not fly across the sahara desert the probable distance is about 7,000 miles some pigeon |

| Margret Murphy wife of Joe murphy had a bird fly over 1000 miles some years ago in one of the nationals NFC I think

| I have to agree with Edgie about the Duke of Wellington pigeon as I did it for my history project My teacher was amazed and gave me top mark it was the only time I enjoyed history Hated it any other time |
