Major c*ck up I say Boosey Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad. With so many ways to inform members today with what is going on etc & so sadly one can but scratch ones head in despair with such an outcome there I suspect.

PostSubject: Re: Racing This Weekend 10th June.   Racing This Weekend 10th June. - Page 2 EmptyMon Jun 12, 2017 1:40 am

My weekend. 325 miles. Headwind of 35 mph. 29 C high humidity. Crap day race wise. For me. First birds clocked in the Tillsonburg club were doing just over 1000 mpm. Over 100 km shorter than I. I did not know until the results for that club were posted today. No matter. My first would have been low 900,s. Figured out the velocity and the time. So did not even clock the first one or any others. 2 last night. Sent the Club Secretary a No Report.  Figured I was too slow. So. 20 sent. 15 home as of now. 8.25 pm. Sunday. Tough headwinds and continued over night then got stronger this morning. Heat up to 31 C. But I am happy!! I now know that the birds can do day plus on the wing in not too good weather. Tough but not fast enough yet. I sent all cocks. Many yearlings. As mentioned before, not raced as young birds. Also happy that nest mates or same father of some birds made it. Now I know what can breed me consistent pigeons. Blood tells. Pedigree or not. On widowhood I assume they would have tried harder. Will know next year. I will state something else. From one loft sent 4 pigeons. 2 are home. Other 13 from another loft. So to experiment and being curious the loft the 4 came from, I put in one of my gout pills. In the water. Prednisone. First birds were from the other loft. Long before the P birds even made it. Does nothing in my opinion. Thought I would share. Enhancers..not for me.

No problems from me with your gout pills Hal Smile Smile. Maybe not for the purist types Wink Wink but all part of the learning curve I would suggest or being one of a curious nature types as such, when one thinks of the many strange potions/pills etc used by pigeon flyers in the past to try & gain the edge with our birds.  cheers

Oldstrain. Yes, agree that some of them are good. Same numbers keep popping up. Unfortunately later on in the year selection may be a problem. 2 I sent intending to cull. What can I say? One was one of the first back. Have to go by performance though. But for most (I included ) it is hard to do. Getting soft in my old age!!!

I would be keeping the ones that shone on a difficult day and the longer race as these may well be the longer race type but I suppose room dictates atb
