PostSubject: Bird numbers.   Bird numbers. EmptySat Aug 12, 2017 11:08 pm

Cutting down on birds. Was hell bent on doing it now not so much. Reasons? First I renovated one 8 x 8. New floor. Good for 12 pairs. 2nd I have another adjoining 8 x 8 with 12 boxes. Another adjoining 8 x 8 for young birds. Plus a separate loft 6 x 12 feet. 18 boxes. Stock birds in the new loft. So lots of room. So approximately 12 pairs in each loft should be more than adequate. I have spent time perusing what past results I have achieved over the years. My idea of widowhood being the 'cure all' is way out.
So will pass on that idea. Last year flying to the nest my schedule got screwed up. Never recovered.
So 3 lofts on 3 different pair up dates, 2 weeks apart should suffice next year. Previous years beat widowhood cock quite often. So back to basics.
