| maybe some to hawks but not enough to make a big difference im sure....although i think some will go into fanciers lofts but wont get reported because they wanted to keep them......and some will maybe kill them because the owner will not pay £30 to get it back....??? |

| thats it don, if a fancier lost 10 ybs (and some loose more) that would be 10 £30s......alot of money, no wonder they dont want them back...... |

I agree there are people like that, but i cant call them fanciers Ive had 2 strays in this season both young birds. And im pleased to say the first was picked up the next day ( a man in Scotland ) The second was given to me today by a guy in our street. The poor bird is very thin and has a puncture to his left wing. I phoned the owner who lives in Hull and he wants him back. So ive put him in Isolation, washed his wound ( looked worse than it is ) He will be on his way home in the next few days. |

| Some times if you have had a pigeon reported and you give the fancier the chance to transfer it sometime if the pigeon does well theywill contact you and let you know how it has done and this can help a freindship work |

But i think our sport in general is great for making friends. yes i agree amanda, the sport/hobby is a great way to meet new friends who are also into pigeons.....ive found that ones who dont live local to me will give some great help and advise but locals who i know from years ago wouldnt tell me anything..... most likely because i will be racing against them.... |
